In-line color measurement and correction technology – AMPACET

Offering Compounders Better Color Control in Real Time

LIAD Smart PMD (Pellet Measurement Device) technology seamlessly integrates into the production line, after the classifier, using a speed controlled, vibratory channel to deliver a continuous stream of granules under the mounted integrated probe. A spectrophotometer compares these granules to a reference color, calculating Delta E in real time. The measured granules are then returned to the take-off area after the classifier.

Spectro pmd and spectrometric pmdSpectro™ PMD provides patented in-line color measurement technology for extruded pelletized materials. This advanced technology redefines in-line quality control to achieve unparalleled color consistency and operational efficiency for compounders and recyclers of pelletized products.

SpectroMetric™ PMD combines real-time color analysis with an automated color correction system. Using a single color masterbatch, the system detects even minor color deviations (Delta E) and automatically adjusts dosing to keep the product in-spec. SpectroMetric PMD delivers closed-loop color control that maximizes PCR content while protecting brand color standards and reducing downtime and scrap.

Key Features and Benefits

Spectro PMD and SpectroMetric PMD eliminate the delays associated with traditional lab testing. Both systems detect even minor color deviations (Delta E) from a set standard, enabling rapid corrective actions, minimizing scrap and lost production time, while maintaining brand standards.

Robust Design for Manufacturing Environments

Encased in a specialized cooling cabinet, Spectro PMD and SpectroMetric PMD are protected from temperature fluctuations and dust, ensuring reliable and precise operation in challenging industrial settings. The design also allows for easy cleaning and quick material changes.
