Multilayer Structure Optimization

Reduce packaging costs while enhancing shelf appeal

Ampacet offers the technology to balance color space, opacity and costs in multilayer blow molded containers and flexible films. A combination of organic outer layer and inorganic inner layer colorants provide the desired opacity with a rich exterior color, even with pearlescent and metallic special effects. Since interior colorants are less expensive than the exterior colorants, and they make up 60 to 90% of the bottle or film layers, using both types of colorant lowers the cost of the container or film. Layer structure should be optimized to achieve adequate opacity and desired color space while minimizing the cost impact of the most expensive outer layer colorant.
