Primary Function:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage OEM global project implementation and launch phase at converters. This includes coordinating the activity of Ampacet local OEM service in each continent.
- OEM global project responsibilities include
- Support & coordinate the project investigation phase together with Global Accounts Managers to ensure the Global Color Team & Regional Technical groups receive the necessary technical information.
- Development: During the development phase this position will act as the interface between Converters & Global Customer and the Global Color Team & Global Accounts Managers.
- Test and Validate: Lead or coordinate the activity related to receive OEM or Global Account approvals for products that pass the development phase.
- Launch: Participate in product launch at the converters as needed. Track process and communicate update reports.
- Measure and Generalize: Initiate and input potential actions to further improve products implemented.
- Elaborate, improve, implement and manage systems and tools to coordinate OEM/Global Account related projects (Stage Gate, Maptools, etc.). These tools are cross-geographical and cross-functional (Marketing and Color Development)..
- Establish, maintain and update platform(s) for knowledge sharing among Ampacet entities using the technologies and means available. Initiate and facilitate the flow of information sharing throughout all relevant functions.
- Continuously explore and search for new ideas & technologies pertaining to OEM/Global Accounts to ensure Ampacet is in a leading position in the industry. This will be done in coordination with each subsidiary’s marketing and technical groups.
- Propose Global Objectives and Strategies to management in coordination with Global Accounts Managers.
- The job may also call for testing and being a group member related to color design technologies.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor Degree in Chemistry or related field is preferred.
- Languages: English proficiency is a must. The knowledge of another language is a major advantage; particularly Spanish, French, German or an Asian language (Chinese, Thai or Japanese).
- Culture: Has worked in a multi-culture / multi-country environment and has demonstrated business experience with different nationalities on a routine basis.
- Computers: Very familiar with MS office package.
- It is expected that this position will require 30% to 50% travel comprised of both domestic and international travel.
Experience:
- 5 + years in plastics compounding, technical, colors related area or technical support to OEM and Global Accounts.
- Strong working knowledge of polyolefins, color concentrates, or chemical additives is required
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Knowledge of PC’s, software and network use is helpful..
- Knowledge of polymer processing .
- Must be comfortable giving presentations and conducting customer meetings.
- Must be aggressive and self-starting, able to function under minimal supervision .
This position may be located in either Europe or the United States at the following locations: Luxembourg, Terre Haute, IN or Tarrytown, NY. Partial domestic relocation assistance will be available for this position.
