Optical Brightener Concentrates

Optical brighteners are compounds that fluoresce under UV light, reemitting in the blue region of the spectrum.  OB masterbatches are used to produce materials that require “extra-whiteness.”  The emission of blue light causes a white product that may typically have a slight yellow cast to appear whiter.  Optical brighteners are also often used in colorless or white anti-tampering seals, to permit rapid confirmation of the seal’s presence when viewed under UV light.  OB masterbatches are typically used at very low LDRs.
