PAY RANGE: Commensurate with ability and experience

Ampacet Corporation is a global independent manufacturer and supplier of color, additive concentrates and services for the thermoplastics industry, that is recognized the world over for innovation, quality and consistency.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

  • Administering the Colorama pigment database as local sites are added to the system.
  • Developing customer portals and second generation design functions.
  • Coordinate global pigment evaluations through Colorama so that pigment information will be available to all regions and duplication of resources is minimized.
  • Complete long term color development projects that will evaluate new effects and properties .

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the standardization and harmonization of methods and procedures for pigments evaluations and color matching where and when possible in order for all laboratories to reports data in a comparative way.
  • Assist in management, implementation and improvement of Colorama and supporting applications.
  • Manage colors of OEM and Global accounts to ensure consistency across the world.
  • Establish, maintain and update platform(s) for knowledge sharing amongst Ampacet entities using the technologies and means available. Act proactively as a connector for information sharing in the primary functions
  • Coordinate and manage specific worldwide colors research projects and initiatives as assigned
  • Support and train each continent as needs arise in the primary functions.
  • Advise potential resources allocation and sharing amongst color laboratories in order to operate in the most efficient and productive way for the group.
  • Support as needed the Process group in worldwide process improvements and make the necessary recommendations.
  • Assist in the coordination with each continent marketing and technical groups, continuously explore and search for new technologies pertaining to colors to ensure Ampacet is in a leading position in the industry. This role is to focus primarily, but not exclusively, on new pigments, synergy effects due to processing techniques, society new trends, new business models, new services/tools to customers, changes in laws and regulations, consumers’ behaviors, costs savings.
  • Promote, encourage and support creativity in each continent to have a continuous flow of ideas and initiatives related to colors.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Engineering or related technical curriculum is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in plastics technical compounding technical and / or in colors.
  • Excellent communication,interpersonal, organizational and follow-up skills required.
  • Proficient computer skills with MS Office. Proficiency with a database management program (i.e. Access) is a plus.
  • Language proficiency particularly Spanish, French, German and/or an Asian Language (Chinese, Thai or Japanese) is a plus
  • Prior multicultural experience dealing with different nationalities on a daily basis is a plus
  • Some travel is required

The candidate will be located at the Terre Haute R&D Center. A candidate with strong technical compounding and Ampacet product knowledge may be based at another Ampacet location; however, the preferred location is Terre Haute.
